About Us

Our philosophy, our approach and our coaches.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Body Comp Gym was founded to provide a sustainable alternative to the extreme, quick-fix training and diet methods that dominate the market today.

Our philosophy is simple: you haven’t truly reached your goal until you are satisfied with your body and can maintain your results long-term, in a healthy and enjoyable way. While achieving your goals will require some sacrifices, we understand that fitness is just one of many priorities in your life. Our efficient nutrition and training methods are designed to help you achieve your goals while maintaining a balanced lifestyle.

OUR APPROACH

Training

Your training program will be tailored specifically to you, considering your unique anatomy, movement patterns, injury history, training experience, and goals. We don’t rely on pre-written templates because we believe in creating a program as unique as you are. There are no compulsory lifts; instead, we will select appropriate exercises and teach you to perform them with excellent technique.

Your coach will continuously monitor your progress, provide feedback, and make necessary adjustments on a session-by-session basis. As you advance, your program will evolve with you, ensuring it remains aligned with your development and goals.

Nutrition

We approach nutrition as an educational journey. We'll create a framework tailored to achieve your desired results, empowering you to make your own food choices within that structure.

Sustainable nutrition habits are crucial for long-term success, and a steady, consistent approach significantly improves your chances of maintaining your progress. We won't ask you to eliminate food groups, follow rigid meal plans, or adhere to restrictive diets. Instead, we'll guide you with practical tips for making small, manageable changes that, over time, will lead to significant results.

Meet the Team

  • Paul Davies

    FOUNDER AND COACH

With over twenty years in the coaching industry, I began my journey coaching football at fourteen and continued professionally in both the UK with a Premier League club and America. This experience laid a strong foundation for the past eleven years, during which I have focused on empowering individuals through personal training.

At Body Comp Gym, we understand that everyone is unique. While our methods are grounded in science, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to our training and nutrition programs. People learn differently—some are verbal learners, while others are visual. My extensive coaching experience with both adults and children allows me to recognise and adapt to these differences, ensuring a personal, effective and efficient training experience.

I firmly believe that with dedication and effort, we are capable of achieving incredible things. I am committed to supporting my clients in reaching their goals. If you are ready to make a few key lifestyle and training changes, we WILL achieve remarkable results together.

  • Bex Hawkins

    COACH

I started training at Body Comp Gym a few years ago and with Paul’s expert coaching transformed my physique with weight training and nutrition. I’ve experienced firsthand the boost in self-confidence that comes with a stronger body, as well as the satisfaction of achieving the physique I’ve always dreamed of.

I developed a real passion for weight training and nutrition which led me to make the move from a career in design to a career in personal training. Having qualified, I now have the privilege of working alongside Paul, helping others achieve their goals through personal training and expert guidance. Additionally, I head up the nutritional side of the business, checking in with clients weekly to ensure they are on track and supported in their journey toward healthier, sustainable eating habits.

I look forward to meeting you!

  • Juno Hawkins-Davies

    ASSISTANT

Meet Juno. While you won't often find her on the gym floor, Juno is no stranger to heavy lifting and protein-heavy meals. Her days are spent hauling ridiculously heavy sticks around Ashdown Forest, ensuring Paul and Bex get enough fresh air and cardiovascular exercise. Her dedication to keeping the team active and outdoors is matched only by her love for exploring and staying fit in nature's gym.
